This post will help you to change or convert SCCM 2012 R2 evaluation mode to licensed version. You can download and install full-featured software for a 180-day trial here. Before you download you need to register and then you can download. Post this you will receive emails with resources to guide you through your evaluation. During the installation of SCCM 2012 R2, you come across a page during the setup wizard where you need to enter the Product Key. If you choose Install the evaluation edition of this product, the product is installed and is fully functional for 180 days. After 180 days, you have an option to upgrade the evaluation edition to licensed edition by entering the key in the site maintenance mode.
Convert SCCM 2012 R2 Evaluation Mode to Licensed Version
Suppose that you have installed evaluation edition of SCCM 2012 R2. The number of days left for evaluation can be seen on the top on Configuration manager console. Let’s see how to convert it to licensed version.
Hit the windows logo key and type Configuration in the search box. In the search results click on Configuration Manager Setup.
Select Perform site maintenance or reset this Site and click Next.
Select Upgrade the evaluation edition to a licensed edition and enter your 25-character product key, and click Next. Volume License Customers can find the product key here: https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx
Once you click Next, if the key is valid, your Configuration manager will be upgraded to licensed version.
You can open the configuration manager console to see if the evaluation mode is gone. You could also open the ConfigMgrSetup.log file and look for the line “Successfully converted from Evaluation to Full Product Version”.
