Yes you heard it right, Microsoft Office Apps get new icons and you will be getting them soon. It’s really good to see the new icons for Microsoft apps after a long time. We all know that Office suite of apps by Microsoft is a very important product and is the major business segment for Microsoft. Office 365 is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft. Microsoft Office 365 includes plans for use at home and for business. Office 2019 was released recently and now we have a new look of the icons. Microsoft Office Apps icons are redesigned to look better and cool. We will see more about the look of the icons in next section.

Microsoft Office Apps Get New Icons

Microsoft Office 365 customers will see these new icons in next couple of months. Since Office 2013 Microsoft didn’t change the look of icons for Office apps. However Microsoft continues to refresh the look and feel of its core productivity suite. As per Microsoft, the new Office 365 app icons look bolder, has got lighter hues, combined with simplistic visuals and instantly recognizable symbols.

The new icon designs for apps include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Skype, Teams and more. These new icons will be pushed out to nearly one billion Office users in coming months starting with mobile and web apps. The new icons will replace the existing icons which were released in 2013. For now Access and Publisher aren’t going to get new icons. I wonder why Microsoft Project and Visio are excluded, i expect the new icons very soon for these products.
